Have your say on the future development of your town!
Notice is hereby given pursuant to Section 20 of the Planning and Development Act 2000 (as amended) that Wicklow County Council, being the planning authority for the area, intends to prepare a new Local Area Plan for the town of Rathdrum. This plan will, when adopted, replace the existing Rathdrum LAP 2006.
The Rathdrum LAP 2017-2023 will consist of a written statement indicating the objectives in detail as may be required by the planning authority for the proper planning and sustainable development of the area, maps and appendices. Appendices include Strategic Environmental Assessment screen, Appropriate Assessment screen and a Strategic Flood Risk Assessment.
The proposed new plan (the ‘draft’ plan) and associated documents will be on display for a period of 6 weeks at the following locations from Monday 6th February 2017 to Monday 20th March 2017 inclusive:
- Wicklow County Council Offices, Station Road, Wicklow Town
- Rathdrum Library and the mobile library
Hard copies and CDs of the draft LAP will be available to purchase at the Planning Counter, County Buildings, Wicklow Town.
Submissions or observations regarding the draft LAP and the associated reports are hereby invited from the public and interested bodes DURING THE 6 WEEK PERIOD. Children, or groups or associations representing the interests of children, are entitled to make submissions or observations. All written submissions or observations will be taken into consideration by the planning authority in deciding on the proposed plan. Please note that submissions will be available for public viewing.

All submissions should include your name and a contact address, a map (where appropriate) and, where relevant, details of any organisation, community group or company etc., which you represent. Please make your submission by one medium only, i.e. hard copy or e-mail.
