County Wicklow is part of the Eastern and Midlands Regional Assembly (EMRA). The EMRA are currently drafting the Regional Spatial and Economic Plan.
Regional Spatial and Economic Strategy for the Eastern and Midland Region
Regional Spatial and Economic Plan's are to support the implementation of the National Planning Framework and the economic policies and objectives of the Government by providing a long-term strategic planning and economic framework for the development of the region for which the strategies are prepared which shall be consistent with the National Planning Framework and the economic policies or objectives of the Government.

Pre- Draft Public Consultation
The Eastern and Midland Regional Assembly have commenced the process of making a Regional Spatial and Economic Strategy for the Eastern and Midland Region. In order to stimulate debate and encourage participation in the process an Issues Paper has been prepared by the Assembly and it is available to view or download on its website www.emra.ie and may be viewed here in County Buildings.
It is requested that submissions are made in writing in respect of the preparation of this Regional Spatial and Economic Strategy and that they consider strategic regional planning and economic issues for the region. Submissions to be made between 20th November 2017 and 5pm on 26th January 2018 (both dates inclusive) through one of the following media:

Regional Planning Guidelines (RPGs) for the Greater Dublin Area 2010 – 2022
Prior to the establishment of the EMRA, Wicklow was part of the Mid-East Regional Authority with the Regional Planning Guidelines for the Greater Dublin Area 2010 - 2022 in place. The RPGs were made by the Elected Members of the Dublin and Mid-East Regional Authorities at their Joint Meeting on Tuesday 15th June 2010.
