Wicklow County Council Library Service is committed to providing a service based on the pillars of education, information, recreation and culture. This is carried out within the framework of Wicklow County Council's Corporate Plan. A network of 13 branch libraries positioned strategically throughout the county and the mobile library service, deal with approximately 350,000 visitors throughout the year. Assistance from the Department of Justice, Equality and Law Reform enables a library service to be provided to Shelton Abbey Prison. A library service is provided on a monthly basis to nursing homes throughout the county.
You can join at any age and use the library services. If you are under 18 years you should ask your parent/guardian to accept the terms and conditions on your behalf. In order to join a person must complete an application form, either online or in person. S/he must visit a library and produce photographic identification (who they are) and proof of current address (where they live) to activate membership.
