Baltinglass MD awarded over €15,000 for an Inclusivity Project for Blessington Playground

Following a recent funding application submitted by Baltinglass Municipal District to the Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth for funding under the Play and Recreation Capital Grant Scheme, €15,773.72 has been awarded for a inclusivity Project in Blessington Playground.

This funding is part of a recent annoucement by Minister for Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth, Roderic O’Gorman TD, where €450,000 was allocated across the country to Local Authorities for the refurbishment and development of playgrounds and play areas. 

30 projects across Local Authorities were awarded funding under the Play and Recreation Grant Scheme for 2024.

The proposed works, in addition to the recent installation of accessible play equipment, will make for a much more accessible and inclusive public playground in Blessington.

It is planned to commence the proposed works on the playground in the coming months.
