Cathaoirleach Cllr. Paul O'Brien officially launches The GRID (Greystones Regional Innovation District) - a state of the art collaborative workspace alongside Taoiseach Simon Harris

Earlier today, Cathaoirleach of Wicklow County Council Cllr. Paul O’Brien and Taoiseach Simon Harris officially launched The GRID (Greystones Regional Innovation District). This state-of-the-art facility has been designed to foster innovation, entrepreneurship, and economic growth in our community.

Conveniently located in Charlesland, Greystones, this hub offers a dynamic environment for businesses and professionals, providing a range of office space, co-working areas, and hot desk options.

The Greystones Regional Innovation District aims to support local entrepreneurs, businesses, and commuters by offering more than 14,000 square feet of collaborative workspace, eliminating the need for daily commutes to Dublin and elsewhere. This initiative will enhance Greystones reputation as a thriving centre for innovation and enterprise, attracting talent and investment to our region.

Taoiseach Simon Harris said, “I am proud to be in my home county today to launch a state-of-the-art facility that will bring Greystones Regional Innovation district to the next level. This will be hugely beneficial to the community, business owners, workers and to the local economy. It also offers people the opportunity to network – leading to new innovative partnerships which can enhance both professional and personal growth.”

Cllr. Tom Fortune, Cathaoirleach of Greystones Municipal District and Chairperson of the Economic Development and Enterprise Support SPC, stated: “This hub will not only provide a modern workspace for our local businesses but will also reduce the need for commuting to Dublin and elsewhere, promoting a better work-life balance for local residents.

Chief Executive of Wicklow County Council, Emer O’Gorman, commented that: “The launch of The GRID is a strategic investment in the future of our community.
