Wicklow County Council in exercise of the powers conferred on it by Section 9 of the Road Traffic Act, 2004 (No. 44 of 2004), as amended, hereby gives notice of its intention to make Special Speed Limit Bye-Laws in respect of certain national, regional and local roads within the administrative area of County Wicklow following a review of speed limits in accordance with the “Guidelines for Setting and Managing Speed Limits in Ireland” issued by the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport (March 2015).
The “Draft” Speed Limit Bye-Laws together with associated maps are available for inspection at Wicklow County Council Offices during normal office hours 9.00am to 5.00pm from Wednesday, 12th October, 2022 to Friday, 25th November, 2022 inclusive at the following locations:
- Wicklow County Council, County Buildings, Wicklow.
- Arklow Municipal District Office, Castlepark, Arklow.
- Baltinglass Municipal District Office, Civic Offices, Blessington Business Park.
- Bray Municipal District Office, Civic Offices, Main Street, Bray.
- Greystones District Office, Civic Offices, Mill Road, Greystones.
- Tinahely Area Office, Coolruss, Tinahely, Co. Wicklow.
Any person may submit observations, comments or objections to the “Draft” Bye-Laws from the date of the publication of this notice until the closing date detailed below and any objections received shall be considered by the Council.

The latest date for receipt of objections or submissions regarding this matter is 12:00 noon on Friday, 25th November 2022.
