Proposed installation of CCTV in Baltinglass Town Centre

Wicklow County Council propose to install a new closed circuit television system in Baltinglass Town Centre. 

The main objectives of the Baltinglass Town Centre CCTV system are to:

  • Provide a deterrent to crime and anti-social behaviour.
  • Improve public safety.
  • Assist emergency services when investigating an incident.
  • Gather evidence for the detection and prosecution of persons who may have been involved in criminal activity.
  • Assist the Local Authority in the management of public areas, which is essential to the commercial wellbeing of the town.

It is proposed to install 9 CCTV cameras in 9 locations within Baltinglass, which have been agreed with An Garda Siochana. Details of the proposed locations can be found in the PDF below.

Plans and particulars of the proposed scheme will be available for inspection during office hours (9am – 4pm) at Baltinglass Municipal District Office, Civic Offices, Blessington Business Park, Blessington, Co. Wicklow, W91 RTVO between Monday 10th June and Friday 28th June.
