Wicklow County Council is developing a Climate Action Plan and is seeking your input. We want to hear your view about action areas where local government can play a role in both:
- Mitigation- delivering on our national greenhouse emission reduction targets, and,
- Adaptation-implementing local measures to ensure protection and adaptability of our communities and natural resources in the face of changing climate conditions
A baseline assessment has been developed which explores how we generate greenhouse gas emissions in County Wicklow, and how observed trends in climate will lead to increased risk from weather events and rising sea level. Wicklow County Council has set goals as an organisation to deliver on climate action in our own operations and providing leadership countywide.
We want your input to develop actions to achieve these goals: reducing our carbon emissions, adapting to climate change challenges and protecting our communities and natural resources.
