The members of Greystones Municipal District, in conjunction with The Wicklow Times, have agreed to hold the 2025 People of the Year Awards on 15th May 2025 in Greystones Golf Club.

Nominations are now being invited under the following categories: Sports Person of the Year, Civic Person of the Year, Special Person of the Year, Cultural Person of the Year, Commercial Person of the Year and Young Entrepreneur of the Year.  The “Special Person of the Year” award is included to recognise people who have overcome personal difficulties in their achievements.  

Nominations can be made by letter, email, or on nomination papers available from the GMD office.

A person nominated for an award must be a resident in the Greystones Municipal District, which includes Greystones, Kilcoole, Delgany, Newcastle and Killadreenan.  Commercial Nominees may be non-residents whose business is in the Greystones Municipal District.  The reasons for the nomination should be clearly stated.

Nominations should be proposed and seconded by two different persons and all nominations must be returned to the Council Offices, Mill Road, Greystones, Co. Wicklow

The Awards will be presented at a function to be held on Thursday, 15th May 2025, in the Greystones Golf Club, Whitshed Road, Greystones, Co. Wicklow.

The District Councillors, in conjunction with the Wicklow Times, wish to honour persons for their achievements and their contribution to the community.  To ensure the success of the People of the Year Awards Scheme, it is imperative that all clubs, organisations and businesses participate in the nominations.
